nn Tashi Slater’s stories have appeared or are forthcoming in Gulf Coast, Painted Bride Quarterly and American Dragons (HarperCollins, 1993). Her translation of a novella by Cuban writer Reinaldo Arenas was published in Old Rosa: A Novel in Two Stories (Grove, 1989). She earned a BA in Comparative Literature at Princeton and an MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Michigan. She lives in Tokyo, where she teaches American Literature at Japan Women's University and is working on a travel memoir set in India.
