Richard Wilbur

One of the twentieth century's most acclaimed American poets, Richard Wilbur has received the Bollingen Prize, the National Book Award and two Pulitzer Prizes. He also served as Poet Laureate and has translated many plays and poems from the French. He first delivered "Poetry and Happiness" as a lecture at Washington and Lee University, and it was subsequently published in Shenandoah.
