Lauren Goodwin Slaughter

Lauren Goodwin Slaughter is the author of the poetry collections, Spectacle (2022) and A Lesson in Smallness (2015), and editor of the forthcoming anthology, The World We See; Women Poets on Neurodivergence (Texas Review Press, 2027). Awards for her writing include a fellowship in poetry from the National Endowment for the Arts and a Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers’ Award. Her poems, essays, and short stories have appeared in Harvard Review, North American Review, Image, Hampden-Sydney Poetry Review, and Pleiades among many other places. She is a member of the board of directors of the Alabama Writers Forum and a professor of English at The University of Alabama at Birmingham where she is on the creative writing faculty and serves as editor-in-chief of NELLE, a literary journal focused on women and their experiences.
